I created a new microsite to promote the University of Minnesota's return to the Minnesota State Fair. A previous microsite had been discontinued a few years earlier and no longer met design or technology requirements. The new site uses the established Folwell design system in Drupal to meet branding and accessibility standards.
Site Features
Filterable Events & Giveaways
It was important for visitors to easily be able to find and sort events or giveaways that they were interested in and allow them to easily remember them with add to calendar options. I created filters using the Drupal Views system show upcoming events, but also to allow users to filter to specific dates if they are looking for something in particular.
Add to Calendar
The add to calendar links were created using a contributed module to allow details from each event to be added to different calendars depending on a user's need.
Locations Directory
The University was present at several different buildings throughout the Fair. I created a walking path in Google Maps to show how visitors could easily travel between all the locations and embedded that at the top of the page. Each location was also listed on the page with it's address, a link to it's location in Google Maps, and information on what visitors could expect at that spot.
